Shs3.1 Bn Kitoba Seed School Construction Set to Begin in Hoima

The Ministry of Education and Sports, in partnership with Hoima District Local Government, has handed over the site for the construction of the Shs3.1 billion Kitoba Seed School in Kiseke, Kitoba Town Council.

The site was handed over to Dolphins Consult Engineers and Contractors, who are expected to begin preparatory works ahead of the official commencement of construction on June 24, 2026. The project is scheduled for completion within 10 months.

According to Engineer Patrick Bongmin, the project supervisor from the Ministry of Education and Sports, the school will include four classroom blocks, two science laboratories, a multipurpose hall, administration block, ICT hall, library, three blocks of staff quarters, and sports facilities.

Hoima District Chairperson Uthuman Mugisha Kadiri commended the government for responding to the district’s long-standing requests for support to expand education infrastructure.

He said the project would provide more learning opportunities for children in the area and help improve access to quality education.

Hoima Chief Administrative Officer Hajjat Sarah Aziz Nakalungi urged parents to support the project by enrolling their children at the school once completed.

She said the district would work closely with the Ministry of Education and Sports to ensure timely completion of the project through regular monitoring and supervision.

Shafih Ntuuyo, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner, commended the government for investing in education as part of efforts to promote socio-economic transformation.

He cautioned the contractor against deviating from the agreed contract terms and conditions, urging them to deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe.

The handover ceremony was attended by Kitoba Town Council leaders, district officials, and local residents, who welcomed the project as a major boost to education development in the area.
